Under the GCP/AFG/146/UK and OSRO/AFG/150/WBK initiatives, essential agricultural inputs and capacity-building support are being provided to male and female farmers across various districts of Logar Province. These projects aim to strengthen food security, improve household incomes, and enhance sustainable farming practices. The interventions include the distribution of improved wheat seeds, dairy kits, organic fertilizers, and solar dryers, along with practical training sessions on wheat cultivation. By combining material support with technical knowledge, the projects enable farmers to increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and adopt environmentally friendly agricultural methods.
Key components of the project include:
- Provision of quality wheat seeds to vulnerable farming households to improve crop yields and ensure food availability.
- Constructions of 18 greenhouses within the 7 districts of Logar Province
- Delivery of hands-on training programs on wheat cultivation, focusing on improved agronomic practices, soil management, and crop protection.
- Distribution of dairy kits, organic fertilizers, and solar dryers to the most vulnerable households in Logar districts, supporting diversified livelihoods, sustainable production, and value addition to agricultural products.
