To prevent the deterioration of food security among highly vulnerable host community households impacted by natural disasters and conflict during the winter, the aim was to ensure continued access to food and prevent reliance on negative coping strategies. In response to this challenge, AWDREO, in collaboration with WFP, took the initiative to conduct interviews with potential beneficiaries to verify that they met the WFP beneficiary selection criteria for seasonal support program. The project was planned to run from November 2021 to February 28, 2022.

AWDREO worked closely with government line departments, influential community elders, and donor monitoring team to organize a dedicated team responsible for identifying and targeting the most vulnerable, food-insecure individuals. This included returnees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and host community members. The program successfully provided support to 7,250 of the most vulnerable men and women across four districts of Logar province.
